Side Quest is a monthly membership for people who keep saying they want to do more interesting things and want a little nudge (and a community) to actually go do them.

Side quests are bigger than the internet makes them out to be. 

And like, hell yes. Life should be more whimsical. Go have your delightful little day.

But side quests can also be the bigger stuff.In every good game, side quests are where some of the realest moments happen. They're where you meet the NPCs who change everything. They're where you stumble into a skill you didn't know you needed. They're where you find out who you are inside the plot.

Side Quest is a membership for both kinds, because both matter. 

Right now, "side quest" mostly means cute little bonuses. I side-quested to the farmer's market. I side-quested to the new coffee shop.

Okay, so what's this look like each month?

Every Monday, a new quest hits the board.

You’ll get one deep quest a month, the kind that might give you a little lightbulb moment, or pull at something inside you. You’ll also receive three lighter quests- playful little adventures you can pull off in an afternoon. Sometimes you'll get a quest that makes you laugh out loud and feel a little ridiculous. Sometimes you'll get one that makes you sit on the floor for a while deep in thought.

You go on the quest

Pick what calls to you and ignore the rest. The whole point is that this is yours to play with and they’ll be there as long as you’re in the membership, and you can curate your quest log to fit what you want to do. Choose some quests to take on, leave the others to the group. 

Then you come back to the campfire and tell us.

Fill us in on what you did… and what you only half-did. What you tried that turned out terrible. Share it all with us, it’s a big part of the process! The other questers will cheer, react, ask questions, and probably go attempt their own version. This is the part that turns "I did a thing" into something that matters for our community.

Why the side quest membership is important to me:

I have a psychology degree and I figured out more about myself at a DND table than in years of therapy.

I'm not even kidding. There's something about being one layer removed from your real life — playing a character, going on a quest, making a choice that isn't "you" but kind of is — that lets you meet yourself in a way that overthinking and journaling never quite manages.

That's the whole premise of Side Quest.
Most personal growth asks you to think your way to insight. You read the book, you do the worksheet, you sit with it. And sometimes that works. But more often, you end up with a notebook full of analysis and a life that looks exactly the same.

You don't think your way to what's next. You discover it.

You figure out who you are by doing things. By trying the weird thing. Taking the off-the-path detour. Saying yes to something a little uncomfortable. Going somewhere new with no agenda. Play, in other words. Real, low-stakes, genuinely-curious play.

Play isn't frivolous. It's the actual mechanism for change.

I built Side Quest because I kept wishing it existed and couldn't find it. Memberships that asked too much of me. Memberships that asked nothing and offered nothing back. Communities that took themselves too seriously, or didn't take the work seriously at all. I wanted a space that took play seriously, without ever taking itself too seriously.

So that's what this is.

I'm not your coach in here. I'm your quest-giver. My job is to drop quests onto the board that I'd genuinely want to do myself, hold the campfire when you come back to share, and trust you to make your own meaning of it all.

The rest is up to you.
Most quests take less than an hour. Some you'll do over coffee. Some you'll think about all week. You don't need more time — you need a reason to actually use the time you've got.
